Chalkboard project
Tara wanted a chalkboard wall in the kitchen for the kids. Since we have textured walls I had to sand it down, prime it, and then put 3 coats of chalkboard paint on it. Looks pretty cool!

Our new mud room
I wanted a mud room to collect all our shoes, hats, coats, etc, but I was having a hard time finding one with four cubbies and could not afford Pottery Barn. So I did some research online and with a little shopping I came up with this. The black bench is from Ikea and cost $99.00. The bench was long enough for me to put 4 baskets or bins for shoes. I was lucky enough to come across these weathered wood bins at Marshalls on clearance...$16 each. I love the chalkboard on the front where Our names are displayed. Joanne Fabrics has wooden bins that you could paint, make weathered looking and just add chalkboards. I found the black shelf also at Marshalls for $30 as well as the weathered window turned mirror for $40. Then I found a white coat rack from Ikea for $9.99. I gave it a weathered look to match my mirror and bins with some grey paint. I added a few pictures on the top shelf and some pillows on the bench. My look was almost complete. I decided to add the black letters to spell out 'welcome'. I think it balances out the look and it will help my little kids with letter recognition....win win!!! Letters were on sale for $1.99 each at Joanne Fabrics.

Happy Birthday Tegan
Surprise....we took the girls to Disney for Tegan's 4th birthday. The highlight was meeting all the princesses during breakfast at Cinderella's castle.
The Cake
Nana had sweet intentions of baking a princess bunny cake for Tegan's birthday. It may not be pretty but it was yummy.
